ARGA LAW | PSA Alert: Protect Your National ID – Beware of Online Update Scams

Affidavit of loss notarization at Ortigas Center

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has warned the public: emails or online meeting links asking you to “update” your National ID information are scams. All updates are processed strictly in person at official registration centers—report suspicious messages to PSA or the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG).

Your National ID is a primary proof of identity used in banking, government transactions, property dealings, and court proceedings—making it a prime target for fraudsters. Losing government-issued IDs, including your National ID, driver’s license, or passport, increases your risk of identity theft, financial loss, and legal complications.

Protecting your identity means protecting your rights. If you or your family encounter identity theft, online fraud, or misuse of personal information, ARGA Law provides legal guidance and assistance.
